The Florida Council on Elementary Education

The following people are appointees to the FCEE:

FCEE is exclusively comprised of school personnel, including mostly teachers and  administrators (about 71%), whose stated goal is "promoting the development of the elementary school."

Organized in 1952 at the suggestion of the State Department of Education their mission is to "provide an opportunity for a cross section of professional educators to study issues affecting elementary education, to serve as a vehicle to share outcomes of these studies with those responsible for elementary education throughout the state, and to initiate positive reforms."

Teachers and administrators are appointed by the superintendents in the various counties.  Some State Department of Education, State Education Association, and representatives of certain professional organizations concerned with elementary education are also invited to annual membership.
